TRURO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It's a "once-in-a-lifetime" image—a wildlife photographer captured a shark breaching the waters off Truro.

Mike Lemery works as a video producer for an advertising agency, and does wildlife photography and videography in his free time. He was visiting Cape Cod over Labor Day Weekend with his fiance when he

"I kept seeing news stories about Great White Sharks in the Cape Cod area," he told WBZ NewsRadio. "As a wildlife photographer and filmmaker, that got me very excited. I never thought I would see one!"

Lemery did more than just see a shark, though. While taking photos of seals at Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro, he heard a woman yelling "get out of the water!"

Another beach-goer told Lemery he saw a shark jumping out of the water, so Lemery grabbed his camera and took a look around.

"The chances of seeing that again I thought were pretty slim, but either way we were pretty excited, so we just started looking out in the water," he said.

He snapped a few photos of a fin his fiance spotted, before his attention moved to a sailboat.

"As it's going across, my fiance again goes, I think I see something by the boat," he said. "So I point my camera toward the boat, and as I'm getting the boat in focus, the shark jumped right out the water, right into my camera frame. I snapped as many photos as I could, and hoped I got it!"
