SHARON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Sharon Police say they have a strong suspect in a string of candy thefts in the quiet town. Chief Donald Brewer said the thefts happened on Halloween night, when a young man stole entire bowls of candy off of front porches across the town.

One video shows the suspect, with a black mask covering his face, ringing the doorbell and explaining to the homeowner that he doesn't have a candy bag because he's stuffing the candy in his pockets, before snatching the entire bowl out of the woman's hands and making a run for it.

Brewer said the department hadn't taken anyone in, but said the young man in the black mask had showed up all over town, from Sharon Heights to the center of town. He even received a tip that the suspect showed up in neighboring Stoughton. Police said the suspect is probably underage.
