Shoppers Look For Bargains Ahead Of The Holidays Amid Inflation

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Between tariffs and lingering inflation, shoppers are on the hunt for any bargain they can find. 

The trend this holiday season has more shoppers looking for deals. Many are opting for more simple gifts with surging prices. Shoppers like Laura, who just moved into a new apartment with her roommates, is looking to furnish her place in style this holiday season.

"I'm looking for a eucalyptus candle because they smell good," Laura said. "And I got this like body wash."

While a lot of shoppers are opting for frugalness this holiday season, some are requesting that their friends and family give skip the shopping and give cash instead.

"I rather get money than like get actual things. I don't like waste their money and they get like something that it either already have or like stuff I'm not going to use," one resident said. 

According to a poll from Gallup, Americans' 2025 holiday spending is expected to reach an average of at least $1,000 on gifts. Well, we've still got another week to see just how many deals we can dash for before Christmas. The holiday shopping spirit is alive and well, regardless of your budget.
