Slow Black Friday For Massachusetts Malls Amid Worsening Pandemic

DANVERS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The people braving the malls during the coronavirus surge seem to be the same people who, in normal years, brave the massive crowds and parking lot chaos.

"Its crazy, I was expecting to see lines, I see nothing," said Talia from Danvers. "Its nice."

Talia said she isn't too worried about COVID-19 this Black Friday, since so far there hasn't been the usual shopper surge.

"As long as you do the right thing, keep your mask on, sanitize, you'll be all set," she said.

Several shoppers said they were being cautious while grabbing their holiday deals, and many said it was worth it to snag the bargains, especially since they didn't have to face any crowds this year to do it.
