HAMPTON, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A small plane crashed and overturned in the waters at Hampton Beach in New Hampshire Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said the plane crashed approximately 30 yards offshore around noon.

A witness on the beach captured the crash on video. It shows the plane's wheels hitting the water, causing the aircraft to flip over tail-over-nose into the ocean.

The video then shows the pilot emerging from the plane's cockpit and swimming away from the plane under his own power.

Hampton Police Chief Alex Reno said the pilot was helped out of the water by New Hampshire state lifeguards. He was evaluated by the Hampton Fire Department and did not suffer any injuries as a result of the crash. There were also no other injuries reported.

A group of people, including multiple lifeguards, was able to pull the plane from the water and drag it across the sand onto the shoreline.
