WAYNE, Maine (WBZ NewsRadio) — A woman from Brighton, Mass. was killed in a snowmobile crash in Maine Saturday evening. Officials say this is the ninth fatal snowmobile crash of the season.
Martha Caroll, 56, was killed in the crash around 5:45 p.m. on Wilson Pond. She was operating her boyfriend’s snowmobile and was wearing a ski-type helmet.
Officials said that inexperience, speed and alcohol were factors that likely contributed to the crash.
