BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The annual Holiday Market at the Snowport festival in Boston's Seaport opened for the season on Friday.
The market will feature live music, food, drinks and more than 120 vendors until Dec. 29.
Digital Marketing firm Constant Contact is the title sponsor of the Holiday Market. Constant Contact hands out funding to small businesses so they can afford stalls in the market.
"Our businesses are always the underdogs," Constant Contact CEO Frank Vella said. "They've got big competitors, companies with marketing budgets and marketing people."
Many of the vendors craft the merchandise they sell by hand.
Marty Allen's booth "Sock Puppet City" features a variety of hand-made sock puppets. Allen received funding and business coaching from Constant Contact before opening the booth.
"It's been a marathon to get here, and now it's going to be a marathon to get through." Allen said.
