BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Local business and early holiday shoppers united last week with the opening of Snowport. The annual attraction returned Nov. 7 and runs through Dec. 28 in the Boston Seaport.
“The folks who put it together do a really good job of creating that festive feel. So people come here and they’re in a good mood and they’re ready to buy stuff which is great for us, as small businesses,” Sock Puppet City owner Marty Allen said.
Now in its 5th year, some small business owners say Snowport has been a tremendous help.
“It allowed me to quit my full-time job and pursue this full-time. It would have been hard for me to do it without it, so I’m so thankful for it,” Equals Me owner Roanna said.
“You get to see so many different people, so we get more exposure, and we get to grow as a small business,” Half Cookie owner Danielle Valez said.
Snowport is free to enter and open to visitors Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. From Dec. 8 to 28, the market will offer extended hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
