RANDOLPH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Three shoe enthusiasts from the south shore have turned their dream into a reality to honor their fallen friend.

Xavier Pena Diaz, Jason Toussaint and Jide Disu are the co-owners of Kerms in Randolph. Since their childhood, the group has envisioned themselves running a high-end shoe store. Disu said this dream finally materialized when Kerms was opened in the group’s hometown last year.

“Definitely a dream come true,” he said. “I mean it don’t really get any better than that.”

Kerms is loaded with stylish gear, high-end sneakers and collectables, but what truly makes the store special is in the name.

The group’s fourth member, Kyle Louzada, died from an accidental gunshot wound in 2012 at his Randolph home. His nickname, “Kerms,” has now become the name of the group's stylish brand.

“Kerms [was] more like a brother,” Disu said. “To carry his name on, we came up with this.”

There is even a picture of Louzada that hangs in the store and serves as a reminder to the crew that their friend is looking after them.

Kerms is located at 69 North Main Street in Randolph and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
