Suspect In Fatal Somerville Hit-And-Run Due In Court

SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The suspect in last week's fatal Somerville hit-and-run crash is due in court Friday.

Edward Clark, 55 of Norwood, was arrested Thursday after one week in hiding. He's charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing a death in the crash that killed Allison Donovan, a beloved 40-year-old Watertown teacher, and will be arraigned in Somerville District Court.

Clark was taken into custody after his truck was spotted by a Tufts University Police officer on University Avenue with front-end damage.

That truck was captured on surveillance footage around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, February 8, after two women were struck in the crosswalk at Powder House Boulevard and Hardan Road.

Donovan was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital and pronounced dead; the other woman who was struck was treated and released.
