WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Many blockbuster movies have filmed scenes in Worcester; such as "Free Guy," "Captain Phillips," and "American Hustle."

Starting this summer the sequel to the 2018 Disney hit "Black Panther" will film scenes around the Worcester area, according to sources.

A majority of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be filmed in Atlanta starting next month. The film will be released on July 8, 2022.

"Black Panther" won an Academy Award for Best Picture in 2018 and is ranked third on Rotten Tomatoes' Top 100 Movies of All Time.

Another movie being filmed in Worcester this summer is "Spirited," which is a musical rendition of the Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. "Spirited" will be released August 13.
