PLYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The South Shore avoided major storm damage from the two winter storms that hit Massachusetts in the past week.
Residents of Plymouth, Mass., spoke with WBZ’s Jim MacKay on Wednesday about the effects of the recent storms.
“Luckily, we did alright here in Plymouth,” said one resident.
On Sunday, the South Shore received less snowfall than other areas of the state, such as parts of Massachusetts that got a foot or more of snow.
Less snow meant less snow melt in the South Shore, which helped to reduce flooding caused by the warmer temperatures and rain storms that rolled in on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“Yeah, this is not anything that should even be a problem for Plymouth, I don’t think,” said another resident about Tuesday and Wednesday’s storms.
Other areas of the state fared differently. Tuesday and Wednesday’s storms brought heavy rain, flooding, and power outages to parts of Massachusetts.
But for Eric, a Plymouth resident, Tuesday night’s storm “seemed pretty easy, a piece of cake,” he said.
As winter progresses, residents in Plymouth are braced for more stormy weather on the horizon. “Is it gonna get worse? I don’t know, I don’t know,” said Eric with a laugh.
