BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Southern New England could be hit by the remnants of Hurricane Isaias later this week, according to the National Weather Service.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, NWS Boston released a map of the Hurricane's expected path, adding that "Southern New England remains in the cone of uncertainty early next week."
Hurricane Isaias is predicted to hit south Florida late Friday night as a Category 1 storm, with 90 mph winds possible.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Isaias is expected to continue creeping up the east coast over the weekend, at which point it could weaken into a Tropical Storm.
NWS Boston said strong winds over 40 mph, heavy rains and localized flooding could potentially impact southern New England on Tuesday night into Wednesday.
