Spring Schedule Takes Effect On MBTA

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The MBTA's new seasonal bus and subway schedule went into effect Sunday.

The MBTA said the schedule includes a host of changes aimed at making service more frequent and reliable.

Part of the plan involves adding extra, smaller cars to the Red line during weekday rush hours.

Trip times on the B and E branches of the Green line will shift slightly throughout the day to make the schedule more reliable.

As for the Orange and Blue lines, the MBTA said trip frequency will improve every day, but did not elaborate on how that will happen.

The spring schedule also includes changes to dozens of bus routes.
