Springfield Teen Accepted To All Ivy League Schools

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — There's running the gamut, and then there's this.

A high school senior from Sprinfield has been accepted to all eight Ivy League schools. Roberta Hannah is a senior at the Springfield High School of Science of Technology.

"Initially I was only going to apply to three, which were Harvard, Columbia and Cornell," Hannah said, "Through my application process my mother and my sister were kind of pushing me and they wanted me to apply to all eight."

Hannah says she had the flu during her application process and she was not convinced that she would get accepted to all the school. Accepted she was, but choosing which one to go to was not difficult.

"I'm attending Columbia University. I'm planning on studying bio-chemistry and African-American and African Diaspora Studies," Hannah said, "I've planned this out since fifth grade."

She says her goal is to be a medicinal chemist one day.

The hardest part of her senior year during COVID-19? Hannah said it's been preparing for and taking the Advanced Placement exams while balancing remote learning.
