FALMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — If you are planning a trip to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket this summer, chances are you will be using a ferry service to get there from the mainland. The Steamship Authority advises you to look at the fine print before you travel, as some things have changed.
Responding to many crew and staffing shortages, it was revealed at the Steamship Authority’s monthly board meeting that starting on June 17, the route from Woods Hole to Martha’s Vineyard will lose a total of three trips per week, while the route from Hyannis to Nantucket will run one less trip per week.

These temporary scheduling changes will only be in effect during the week from June 17-Sept. 5, and the Steamship Authority plans to work with customers to rebook their trips canceled by these new service changes.
The Authority said in a statement that they thank customers for their patience and understanding.
