HINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — For the first time in nearly two decades, Starbucks revealed a major change to the company's iced coffee recipe.
A new blend of “sun-dried” Latin American coffee beans will be used to make the drink. This new recipe rolled out in May and already garnered strong opinions on social media.
One Reddit user asked, "Hey, did they change the ice coffee?" in the Starbucks thread after noticing something different.
How does it really taste?
Terace likes the sweet drinks at Starbucks but decided to have a sample of the new black ice coffee. “It’s actually pretty good,” she told WBZ Newsradio at the Starbucks on Derby St. in Hingham. “I would recommend it.”
In addition, Starbucks also changed the standard ice coffee order to black/unsweetened. Previously, customers had to request it.
In a couple month, Starbucks and other coffee houses will also start offering their fall seasonal menu, and Terace is looking forward to their “… pumpkin spice flavor,” she said. For now, “I think in a few minutes, I’ll probably be nice and energized," she continued.
