BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The state recorded the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in more than a year on Sunday.

There were 33 new, confirmed COVID-19 cases reported by the state's Department of Public Health on Sunday — the lowest number since March 12, 2020, when there were 29 new, confirmed cases. 24,980 tests were reported. There have been 662,811 cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth in total.

133 people were in the hospital from COVID-19, with 48 in the ICU. Zero COVID-19 deaths were reported for only the third time since last June, so the state's total deaths stayed at 17,576.

The seven-day average positivity rate was 0.42%, with 2,695 estimated active cases.
