UPDATE: Steamship Authority Says High Speed Ferry Is Fixed

HYANNIS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) —   The Steamship Authority announced Friday that crack in the hull the M/V Iyanough has been fixed. The vessel was ready to make its scheduled 5 p.m. departure from Hyannis.

The crack was discovered on the right side of the vessel before it departed Hyannis Thursday afternoon.

The Steamship Authority thanked "maintenance personnel for their quick and hard work," as well as their customers "for their patience."

All high speed ferry trips had been canceled through Friday, but traditional trips on the Hyannis-Nantucket route ran as scheduled. Tickets for canceled trips were fully refundable.
