Storm Flooding Cuts Off Morrissey Boulevard Heading Both Directions

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — UPDATED 2:10 P.M. Morrissey Boulevard was practically underwater on Monday, enough to temporarily shut down both northbound and southbound traffic in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood. Both lanes on Morrissey have since been reopened, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The ramp from the expressway to Morrissey was also closed because of flooding for a time, commuters were urged to find alternate routes avoiding the area. That on ramp has also be re-opened, the MSP says.

From the traffic lights near University of Massachusetts Boston to Freeport Street on Morrissey roads were cut off, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation said in an announcement.
