BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A storm is set to hit the region on Monday, bringing high, potentially damaging winds south of Boston. The worst wind will be concentrated along the Cape, the South Shore and the South Coast, with gusts of up to 50 MPH expected and sustained wind of 20-25 MPH. The National Weather Service has put out a wind advisory for those areas, which kicks in at 1:00 PM on Monday and lasts though 1:00 AM on Tuesday.
Unseasonably warm temperatures will accompany the wind, with a high of 61 in Boston on Monday.
Downed tree limbs and scattered power outages are possible. A rumble of thunder is also possible earlier in the day, according to the service.
The worst of the wind looks to come in the early to mid-afternoon, according to Accuweather. Rain is not predicted to have a large impact, with only a tenth to a quarter of an inch expected, except in locally heavy amounts because of possible thunderstorms.
Temperatures will dive later in the week, setting up the possibility of snow on Wednesday.
