BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Storms across the country are having a big effect on air travel into and out of Logan Airport.
Tropical Storm Debby and other storms across the country have caused a ripple effect of delays and cancellations at airports across the country. As of 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Flight Aware was reporting 68 delays and 33 cancellations for flights coming into or out of Logan Airport.
Ahmed, who was supposed to be on a flight back to Toronto, was one of the many travelers feeling the frustration at Logan on Wednesday morning.
“We got the text message saying that the flight was canceled and to wait for an updated plan B,” said Ahmed. “While we’re in line, we’re just considering our options. [We’re] even considering driving.”
Elena has had her own issues trying to get back to Newark, N.J.
“The information [we got] was that we didn’t have any more pilots and we were waiting for [more] pilots,” said Elena.
John, who was trying to get back to Nevada, was not letting a day of delays dampen his spirits.
“You just roll with it. Weather happens and there’s nothing you can do about it. We’ll figure it out and we’ll get there eventually,” said John.
For Ed and his two young children, patience was a lot harder to find.
“It’s quite the adventure trying to keep my young one occupied. We’re not leaving until about [8:30 p.m.] tonight,” said Ed.
More delays and cancellations are expected in the coming days as Tropical Storm Debby works its way up to New England.
