STOUGHTON, Mass.(WBZ NewsRadio) — A grand opening was held Friday for a new Dunkin’ in Stoughton. The first 100 customers were rewarded with a free medium coffee for 100 days to celebrate the new store.
Desiree, one of the winners, said the prize meant "a lot" to her because she's a single mom.
One free coffee for 100 customers a day for 100 days cuts into about $35,000 in sales for franchise owner Michael Cavallo.
“That’s the excitement of the day, and people keep coming back. I’ve done it in other stores, it always does well, and the people keep coming back,” Cavallo said.
Cavallo put up signage inside the store that read “Cobbs Corner runs on Dunkin’.”
“I didn’t want to say Stoughton Runs On Dunkin’ or Canton, because my neighbors from Sharon would be upset with me, it’s serving three communities,” Cavallo said.
In addition to the celebration of the new store, Cavallo donated $5,000 to St. Anthony’s food pantry.
"We're completely community supported; donations, volunteers, so this is gonna go a long way to keep our shelves stocked," Ginger Hoffman, who runs the pantry, said.
