Stoughton Police Respond to Shooting; Teen Treated For Serious Injuries

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A male teenager was seriously injured after a shooting in Stoughton Friday night, officials said.

Stoughton Police said they received 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of McEachron Drive at around 11:20 p.m.

Police said responding officers found shell casings in the area of Murray Circle, but were unable to find any victims at the scene.

Officers were sent to Good Samaritan Hospital to see if anyone with gunshot wounds had arrived. They discovered a teenager being treated in the emergency room, authorities said.

The victim was later taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston with serious injuries, police said.

Police believe the shooting was targeted and not random in nature. Investigators are asking all residents in the area to check their home security cameras for any footage that could help identify a shooter.
