BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —  Members of the group “Our Climate Massachusetts” are making their voices heard on the issue of climate change. WBZ’s Kim Tunnicliffe spoke with some of them, mostly students, who are adamant about sounding the alarm on this impending crisis and acting up before it is too late.

Dozens of young people gathered on the steps of the State House demanding transparency from lawmakers about how they’re voting on several key climate bills. The students are also meeting with legislators to try to persuade them to vote favorably on those bills.

“[We need to] implement funding towards decarbonization of buildings such as public schools, public housing. [This] makes that crucial step towards renewable energy development across the state”, said an activist.

“We have all the resources necessary to make a change for a livable, breathable planet and for a happy community. All we need is a collective that is going to fight for it like the Massachusetts Youth Climate Coalition”, said another.
