CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Being "wicked smaht" is no joke for Greater Boston Area trivia contestants, one study found that the Commonwealth is among the top competitive places to be when it comes to trivia night.

The study from Water Cooler Trivia says Massachusetts is the number one "Sporacle" state in the country, with a score of 631 across multiple trivia forms and metrics. With this piece of information, WBZ's Kyle Bray thought to put some residents to the test outside An Sibin, a bar in Cambridge that's known to have packed trivia nights.

The study used Google Trends data from the last year or so, tracking the number of searches revolving around searches.

Brennan of An Sibin says it's no surprise to him that Massachusetts residents are "die hard" over trivia.

"A lot of people in Massachusetts are smart and hard-driving. It should be like free shooting in the National Basketball Association like 75 percent are getable, then you have the separators, the 25 percent— they're a little bit harder and little bit more esoteric, but if people chew on them a bit they'll get the answer right," Brennan said.
