BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A recent study has found that Massachusetts is the third most stressed out state when it comes to education.

The study from telemedicine and mental health treatment provider PlushCare was based on an analysis of four million geotagged tweets from 340 major cities in the United States, which looked for keywords concerning categories of money, careers, relationships, education, social media, and the news.

Using the "stress detection tool" TensiStrength from the United Kingdom's Wolverhampton University, PlushCare found the percentage of stressed tweets overall in each category in all 50 states. The tool calculated that 45.6 percent of all Bay State geotagged Tweets about education were classified as "stressed."

The only two states that triumphed over Massachusetts' education stress on Twitter is Montana and South Dakota.

On the heels of the study, the Biden administration's loan forgiveness program was put on hold after a federal judge in Texas rejected the executive action. Just weeks ago, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Ayanna Pressley toured the state to advertise the program, and encourage borrowers to sign up. The Biden administration has since stopped accepting applications for the program.

Under the careers category, New Hampshire came out on top as the most stressed out state based on Tweets.

PlushCare said alongside the study that time limits on social media use, regular exercise, and a healthy diet can be steps to mitigate stress levels.
