BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sunday night will be last call for the last time at one of the Cheers Bars locations in Boston.
According to the owners of the Cheers Bar at Faneuil Hall, the establishment will be closing down for good on Sunday night, due in part to the coronavirus pandemic and a lack of assistance from the landlord of the marketplace.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances and the Covid-19 pandemic, It’s our last weekend here in Faneuil Hall," said the bar on Instagram. "If you haven’t yet, come eat, drink and laugh with us. We’re open for socially distanced patio and indoor dining until last call on August 30th!"
Cheers at Faneuil Hall has offered locals and tourists a chance to dine and shop at the replica bar for nearly two decades.
"This accurate duplication of the famous Hollywood set features a central island bar, Tiffany lamps, overhead TV lights, and a catwalk," the Faneuil Hall website says. "In addition to traditional pub fare and an abundant beverage selection, this location showcases some of the original costumes worn by the Cheers cast."
The Cheers location on Beacon Street, which inspired the iconic TV show, will remain open.
