NANTUCKET, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Restrictions on the sale of jet fuel have been announced at Nantucket Memorial Airport.

Airport Manager Noah Karberg said the restriction is due to a surge in demand for fuel from larger aircraft that have been coming to the island.

Due to that surge, effective Sunday, sales to general aircraft will be limited to 300 gallons.

Karberg also tweeted on the airport's Twitter account that Martha's Vineyard AirportNew Bedford Airport, and Barnstable Municipal Airport are all ready to help Nantucket with fueling during the duration of the restrictions.
