Suspect Arrested And Firearm Recovered Following Dine And Dash Incident

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Charlestown woman was arrested on Monday after Boston Police said she pulled out a gun while trying to dine and dash at a restaurant in Chinatown.

The incident happened Saturday, June 29, around 10:15 p.m. at a restaurant on Washington Street.

Zaire Alexander, 24, was arrested after turning herself in at Boston Municipal Court.

Police said she was dining with a man at the restaurant, and when she went to the bathroom, the man left without paying. Alexander also allegedly tried to leave without paying, and pulled out a pink gun after being confronted by restaurant staff.

According to police, there was a struggle. One staff member managed to take the gun from her, and the suspect fled the restaurant in a vehicle.

One person was minorly injured during the struggle. They were treated on the scene by Boston EMS.

Alexander is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court. She is facing multiple charges including Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Assault and Battery on an Elderly Person.
