Suspect Arrested In Downtown Boston Armed Bank Robbery

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a TD Bank in Downtown Boston Tuesday, police said.

According to Boston police, officers responded at 2:30 p.m. to a call of a robbery in progress at the TD Bank at 250 Cambridge Street in Boston.

Upon arrival, police were informed that a suspect, later identified as Joseph Campbell, 59, of Boston, passed a note to a teller and demanded money. Campbell allegedly stated he had a bomb, and was handed approximately $2,000, police said.

Campbell fled the scene on foot and was later apprehended in the area of the MBTA Park Street Station. Boston police said they recovered approximately $1,888 from the suspect.

Campbell has been charged with armed robbery and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
