Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting in Malden

MALDEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police have arrested a suspect after a man was shot and killed in Malden.

The shooting happened just after midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Police found the victim, Joshua Mercier, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds near Cross Street in Malden.

Mercier was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The suspect, Zachary Dimaro, of Malden, was arrested later Tuesday morning. He’s accused of firing a gun at his home in Greenwood Court during an encounter with Mercier.

When police searched the home, they found about two pounds of marijuana, ammunition, and $3,204 in cash.

The shooting is currently under investigation.
