MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Middleborough Police has announced that a shelter in place advisory on West Grove Street has been lifted following an active shooter situation Friday morning. A suspect is also in custody.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at a Massachusetts Department of Transportation public works depot on West Grove Street around 9 a.m. Friday morning. Residents were asked to shelter in place.

About four to five shots were fired inside the facility. Police said the suspect fled into nearby woods. Authorities then began a large-scale search for him. He's since been arrested.
No injuries were reported.
