GARDNER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Wednesday marked two years since Breanne Pennington, a 33-year-old mother of four, was shot dead in her Gardner home. Her killer has still not been found.
Soon after the shooting on Oct. 22, 2023, Pennington's husband, Aaron Pennington, was identified as a suspect and charged with murder.
Police launched a manhunt for Aaron Pennington that lasted over a week. Pennington's car eventually turned up, but not the suspect himself.
Two years later, detectives are still searching for answers. Investigators believe Pennington could still be at large and might be armed and dangerous.
The investigation has revealed a troubled marriage inside the Cherry Street home where the murder took place. Breanne Pennington's family has been outspoken about domestic violence awareness since the shooting.
