BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Facing one count each of second-degree murder and motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, the suspected driver in the fatal SUV crash into the storefront of the Apple Store in Hingham's Derby Street Shoppes was arraigned on Monday.
To his elevated charges, 53-year-old Bradley Rein of Hingham pleaded not guilty and posted $100,000 bail on all charges including the 22 counts of assault for the people injured in the crash. Most of those charges (18 of them) are considered aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Other stipulations were placed on the defendant in court including orders he cannot drive a motor vehicle, leave the Commonwealth without approval, or possess weapons. Additionally Rein has been told he must wear a GPS monitoring bracelet and surrender his passport.

On the day of the incident on November 21, first responders transported dozens of victims in the crash to South Shore Hospital. Prosecutors say Rein accelerated his 2019 Toyota 4Runner up to 60 miles per hour without touching his brakes, though he argues that his foot was stuck on the gas pedal.
65-year-old Kevin Bradley of New Jersey was the sole victim in the crash that died from his injuries.
A grand jury in Plymouth County voted to indict Rein on the elevated charges in late March. Rein's next court date is scheduled for June 21.
