Bryan Rice, 22, faces several charges, including murder and attempted armed robbery. Anthony Baptista-Goncalves, 24, was accused of being an accessory before and after the fact to commit murder and attempted armed robbery, according to a police statement.
Both men will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
Police received a call at 2:04 a.m. Saturday about a person shot in the area of 101 Canal St., according to the statement.
The victim, a man believed to be in his 20s who was not identified, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, the statement said.
The suspects were observed fleeing the scene in a motor vehicle, which was stopped at the intersection of Canal Street and Causeway Street, according to the police statement. It was during that stop that a firearm was recovered, and the two suspects were arrested.
