SWANSEA, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Swansea Police are looking for a man who allegedly stole a precious necklace from a storefront on the G.A.R. Highway. Police received a call about a larceny at Hannoush Jewelers just before 2:30 PM on Saturday. Witnesses told the officers that a man had come into the store posing as a customer.
He allegedly asked to see a pricey diamond necklace, and then took off once the necklace was in his hands.
Police think a getaway car, a coupe with tinted windows and an out-of-state license plate, was waiting for him outside. The suspect is described as between 5-foot 6 and 6 feet tall and in his 30's, with a thin build.
Swansea Police are asking for any information that could help find a suspect.
