BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —The iconic "TD Garden" name will remain for the home of the Boston Bruins and Celtics until the middle of the 21st Century. The naming deal between New Jersey-based TD Bank and the company that owns and operates the Garden, Delaware North, was set to expire in 2025.
The partners said the naming deal is being extended 20 years, until 2045. The companies said they weren't disclosing how much the deal cost, but the cost of the new deal will likely exceed the last deal's annual $6 million, according to the Boston Globe.
As part of the naming agreement, TD Bank is donating $15 million toward local arts programming called "Access the Arts."
Delaware North recently added a 50,000-square-foot, $100 million renovation to the arena in 2018.
