BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Tedy Bruschi is recovering after suffering a second stroke on July 4th.
The former New England Patriot said he is doing better in a recent Instagram post, and took the opportunity to educate others on warning signs.
"Around 10:30am on July 4th I lost use of my left arm," Bruschi wrote. "I then tried to speak and realized I was slurring my speech. As I turned to my wife she noticed the left side of my face was drooping. We immediately knew what was happening. These are stroke warning signs."
Bruschi and his wife called 911 and an ambulance rushed the former linebacker to the hospital.
The local fan-favorite went on to thank his followers for their well wishes. "Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers," he wrote. "I’m doing much better."
