NELSON, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The quick thinking of two teenagers in Nelson, New Hampshire saved the life of a man that was in a fiery crash early Friday.
19-year-old Vincent Heck and 16-year-old Jake Heck of Hillsboro were in a car with their mother passing through Nelson when they witnessed a pickup truck run off the road and slam into a rock off Route 9. The two teenagers did not hesitate to rush over, ignoring the smoke that was coming from the vehicle, and pulled the unconscious driver out of his truck moments before it burst into flames.
According to New Hampshire State Troopers, the victim was hospitalized for breathing problems and is recovering, but would have most certainly have died if the Hecks did not get involved.
"I just think I was doing what any normal human being should do. I wish somebody would do the same for me," Vincent told WMUR.
