Teens Arrested After Stealing Car, Fleeing Police In Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two teenagers were arrested after stealing a car and trying to evade police Saturday evening in Worcester.

Police noticed the stolen car on Russel Street and tried to pull it over, but then it picked up speed and tried to drive away.

Another officer managed to locate the car near Crystal Street, but didn't put on their sirens. The car then quickly went in reverse and crashed into the police cruiser, and then continued to drive on.

After a chase, the car turned onto Hollis Street before hitting another police cruiser, but kept driving.

Finally, the car hit a parked car on Hitchcock Road and could no longer drive. The male passenger in the car got out and tried to run away on foot, but was eventually stopped and arrested.

The male driver, who was 17 years old, spit on an officer before being arrested. Both he and the passenger are now facing multiple charges including receiving a stolen motor vehicle.
