Tewksbury Man Arraigned In Deadly Salisbury Hit-And-Run Crash

SALISBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Tewksbury man has been arraigned on motor vehicle homicide charges after being arrested for a fatal hit-and-run in Salisbury last week.

Deven M. Tanguay, 32, of Tewksbury, was arrested on Tuesday and is facing multiple charges. He was ordered held without bail in Newburyport District Court.

The crash happened Friday night around 11:15 p.m. on Folly Mill Road. Police say a person on a bicycle was hit by a passing pick-up truck that was carrying a small camper. Police later found the camper dislodged at the scene. Authorities said the truck fled the scene, and was stopped about 30 minutes later by Hampton Falls Police in Kensington, N.H.

An arrest warrant was obtained on Monday, and Tanguay was taken into police custody on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Rebecca Bartczak of Amesbury.
