Suspect In Tewksbury Library Donation Box Theft Turns Himself In

TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man wanted for allegedly stealing money from the donation box at the Tewksbury Public Library has turned himself in, police said.

Tewksbury Police said they were notified of the theft at around 4:30 p.m Friday.

According to police, a man wearing a black jacket with a hood and gray sweatpants was allegedly seen taking the donation box into the library's bathroom where he stole the money, approximately $50.

He was then seen heading southbound on Main Street on foot, police said.

Anderson Phao, 26, of Tewksbury was arrested on Sunday and charged with:

  • Larceny from Building
  • Break into Depository
  • Vandalize Property
  • Thief, Common and Notorious
