WATCH: Berlin Police Share Video Of Texting-While-Driving Crash

BERLIN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Berlin, Massachusetts shared the above video of a crash they said was caused by a distracted driver in order to warn the public of the dangers of texting behind the wheel.

The crash, which happened on July 23, shows a car listing off the side of a road and slamming into a utility pole, as viewed from the dashboard camera of the car behind.

Berlin Police said the driver, who received minor injuries from the crash, was cited for texting while driving.

"We want to remind everyone about the serious outcomes that can result from texting and driving, being distracted by any other means, or impairment from drugs or alcohol," the department wrote on their Facebook page.

The department wants all drivers to view the video and show their family and friends as a safety reminder.

"The text, email, Facebook, Snapchat Message can wait," they wrote. "It is not worth your life or the life of another person."
