BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The holiday travel season is in full force at Boston Logan Airport.
Some travelers are celebrating the end of the government shutdown as they prepare for travel with Thanksgiving less than a week away and Christmas around the corner.
"Now, since the government is open again, I feel like it's much better," one traveler said.
AAA is projecting a 2% increase in air travel this Thanksgiving holiday period compared to last year. Alex, a student at Boston University, is flying out early before things get too busy.

"I'm traveling to Seattle for like 10 days and visiting some old friends because I did my undergrad there," Alex, who is currently doing graduate school in Boston, said. "So taking a little bit of long break is pretty necessary."
According to data from AAA, the number of holiday travelers opting to fly is expected to be between 5 and 6 million.
"My flight's on time. The airport is business as usual," another traveler said.
