NORTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — LPGA and FM Global announced the 2024 Women’s FM Global Championship at the TPC Boston course this Labor Day weekend.
144 players will compete for the $3.8 million purse from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1.
TPC Boston is no stranger to PGA tournaments. ““It’s a beautiful golf course; it’s in great shape [because] the ruff is quite severe in spots but greens were fabulous,” Bradley said. “I think it’ll be a great test.”
The last time a major women’s golf tournament took place in the bay state with the 2004 U.S. Women’s Open in South Hadley.
“I mean the history in women’s golf in Massachusetts is strong,” Pat Bradley, LPGA Hall of Famer from Westford, told WBZ NewsRadio. “It just seemed like a natural [to be here].” Bradly will also help host the championship.
She added that this going to be a strong group of golfers with many from the Bay State, like Rockland, Mass’ own Megan Khang.
Khang debuted in 2016 and tied in second place at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in June, as Bradley calling her a “terrific young player, and I’m having a great time watching her progress.”
Tickets to the 2024 FM Global Championship is on sale now.
