The Commonwealth Prepares For Protests In Response To Derek Chauvin Trial

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio)-- There are multiple rallies being held nationwide in response to recent police brutality.

Crowds have gathered in Brooklyn Center, following a former police officer fatally shooting Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old Black man, during a traffic stop.

In Chicago, 13-year-old Adam Toledo was shot and killed. Authorities released new body-cam footage that shows the officer firing a single-shot at Toledo.

And as former Minnesota Police Officer Derek Chauvin's trial moves towards a verdict, people are gathering in various areas of Boston throughout the weekend to protest against police brutality.

Thursday night, demonstrators gathered at the Massachusetts State House for a peaceful rally.

On Saturday, another protest is being held in Nubian Square.
