MALDEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Residents in Malden, Mass. have a great opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors in their own city.
Malden resident DJ Josey created “The Great Malden Outdoors” campaign to promote all the different ways that residents can have fun outdoors. He said the number of recreational opportunities is not usually found in cities like Malden.
“It’s all right here, publically accessable and, to make it even more rare, in a diverse community of lower income and a majority-minority town. That just doesn’t happen very often in the United States,” said Josey.
Josey said he wants Malden residents to know what is available right outside their doors.
“It gets people outside and we have a very unique gem in the city of Malden with all this outdoor recreation. From rock climbing, bird watching, mountain biking, trail running, paddle sports, fishing, it’s all right here,” said Josey.
While the activities are available for all residents, the website can be translated to the top eight languages spoken in the city.
