BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston offered free admission on Wednesday to those who wanted to de-stress in the wake of the 2024 election.
“Yeah, I think it's kind of a great way to relieve stress and get away from the tension I think yesterday caused,” James said.
“I figured that whatever the outcome of the election was, spending a morning looking at some art in a beautiful environment would be a good way of decompressing a bit, so that’s what I’m here for,” Joe added.
Peggy Fogelman, the Norma Jean Calderwood Director of the Gardner Museum, said that she hoped people could take the day as a chance to remember the common humanity we all share and the importance of creativity in all of our lives.
People had some time to soak in the results of the election, although it didn't make the outcome any less stressful or painful for some voters.

“The elections were won by Republicans and so now it’s not even when Trump’s in office like even past that, he has a hold on it now and it’s going to be so hard to escape that cycle,” said Emi, a college student.
“My biggest hope now, is that we make it through the next four years still intact,” said Stephanie, a former Boston student visiting the area.
These students' primary concerns lie in the future of women’s healthcare and LGBTQ rights under a second Trump administration.
Not every college student felt so dire about the situation.
“[The outcome] could be good or bad, who knows, at the end of the day it’s 50/50 we’ll see,” said Jim.
