The Official Countdown To The 250th Anniversary Of The Revolution Has Begun

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —  The official countdown to the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution has begun in Charlestown.  

A ceremony on Thursday marked 250 days until the 250th anniversary of the first battle of the Revolutionary War.  

Countdown signs were unveiled at the park, as the official week of celebrations gets closer.  

The Revolutionary War started in 1775, and the Battle of Bunker Hill began in June of 1775.

“Today we start the official countdown where it counts the most, right here in Charlestown,” said Wu.  

Semi quincentennial celebrations will culminate in the shadow of the Bunker Hill Monument next June.

Mayor Wu said that 2025 will be huge for the city of Boston.  

“It represents all that Boston is and all that Boston will be, and to show visitors from around the world, around the country, and our very own communities especially our young people, exactly where our revolution began and where that revolution continues to this day,” said Wu.
